Sacred Theatre I & II
Bill George & Mark Perry
August 15-22
Playwright Mark Perry (A Dress for Mona, and On the Rooftop with Bill Sears)
joins , Bill George (Kingfisher Theatre Director and Touchstone Theatre Ensemble
Member) in leading a two-week intensive exploration of the spiritual side of
theatre.
The workshop
will feature a unique approach to the fundamentals
of acting, playwriting, and collaboration,
which emphasizes their grounding in spiritual principle. Participants will
simultaneously learn new skills and nurture their own spiritual development.
Plus by the end of the week, they'll be ready, able and on fire to undertake all
sorts of creative roles.
The
process of creation will be explored as an honest expression of one's own soul
as it responds to what it may hear -- then to be shaped by the
contingencies of service.
Aspects of performance including mask, puppetry, movement, and sound and
elements of stagecraft including play structure and staging will all be touched
upon
as part of the theatrical vocabulary in order to advance a more powerful means
of expression and of communication. Two days will be set aside for
individual creation and collaboration with fellow workshop participants so that
one may advance one’s own work.
Participants may sign up for I, II or both sessions.
$360/Session
